What is the Image to Video feature?

Image to Video lets you use a still image as a visual reference to generate an animated video clip. You provide the image, write a prompt describing what you want to happen, and ByThen animates it using AI. The resulting clip goes straight into your Editor Tool timeline.

What image formats are supported?

JPG, WEBP, SVG, PNG are the recommended formats for reference images. Make sure the image is clear and high-quality, the better the input, the better the generated output.

Where do I upload my image for reference?

You can upload it at the Storyboard stage or inside the Editor Tool, under the Video tab, select Generate Video. You'll find an option to attach a reference image alongside your text prompt.

Can I use images at any point during editing, not just at the start?

Yes. Image to Video is available throughout the editing process. You can generate new clips from images at any stage without leaving your project, and drop them wherever you need them in the timeline.

What if the generated clip doesn't look right?

You can regenerate it. Each clip generation is independent, so regenerating one clip won't affect the rest of your project. Refine your prompt, adjust the reference image, or change the style and try again.

Will my visual look consistent in the rest of the video?

Yes. ByThen uses your Key Visual, which defines the overall art style, color tone, and character direction, as a guiding framework. When you also provide a reference image for a clip, both inputs work together to steer the output and maintain visual consistency.

Can I use an image as a start or end frame for the animation?

Yes. In the video generation panel, you can designate an image as the starting frame, ending frame, or both. This gives you more control over the motion trajectory of the clip.

Does the video output match the look of my uploaded image?

Your uploaded image acts as a visual guide. The AI uses it to steer the style, composition, and content of the generated clip. For more control, you can also define start-frame and end-frame images to shape how the motion plays out across the clip.
